Dr. Phil tells Farmville-Obsessed mom to "turn it off" - How games interfered with this mom's lifeOn today's episode of Dr. Phil, a mom turned to him for help in regards to an addiction. An addiction to a simple Facebook game: Farmville. Farmville, as many of you stay-at-home moms might be familiar with, is an online game on Facebook that allows you to build up your own farmstead and grow crops, raise animals and harvest crops and trees on your own little plot of land. While mildly fun and entertaining, it also requires a lot of work and care to keep your crops from growing bad and losing your field to dead food. "I don't know why I'm doing that," says the mom. She chooses Farmville over her children--and it interferes with her ability to be a mom. "Get out of Farmville--start a garden for real!" retorts Dr. Phil. And he's right--if you find yourself addicted to an online game and it takes away your abillties to function as a normal adult, it takes you away from your family and your work, it's just not worth it. Whether it's Farmville, Mafia Wars, or Zynga Poker, or any other popular game on Facebook, know when to pull the plug and move on with your life--in reality. When I first got a facebook account I got me a farm....It was addictive and I got so many request that it was driving me crazy....I deleted my farmville from FB and blocked all request also. I did find myself on that dang game forever....Don't get me wrong though I love being on the computer but there are some out there that takes this game a little to far......
What is your opinion on the subject?

I did not see that Dr. Phil, but do believe it. I have several people on my facebook that play all day long it seems and they have everything updated on their facebook page.
I admit it is easy to get online and loose tract of time, I am guilty of that. But if you are not handeling your responsibilites because you are on the internet, then I think it becomes a problem.
